Latest JEE Main Syllabus 2024 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.):

The syllabus for JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) includes Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. It is structured based on the curriculum of classes 11 and 12.

Types of JEE Main Cut-offs:

The JEE Main cut-off encompasses two categories: the JEE Main qualifying cut-off, issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the JEE Main admission cut-off, released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on behalf of participating institutions.

1. JEE Main Qualifying Cut-off: The JEE Main qualifying cut-off is the minimum score that candidates must achieve in the entrance exam to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, the next level of the examination. It serves as a threshold for candidates aspiring for admission to prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

2. JEE Main Admission Cut-off: The JEE Main admission cut-off is the minimum mark required by candidates to seek admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs), and other participating government or private institutions. This cut-off is determined based on various factors and is used by JoSAA during the seat allocation process.

Admission Process:

The admission and counselling process is overseen by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Based on the candidate’s rank in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced, successful candidates secure admission to prestigious engineering institutions such as IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB):

Candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in the XII examination or be in the top 20 percentile in the XII examination conducted by their respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks should be 65% in XII. Additionally, candidates must pass each subject of XII or an equivalent examination.
